Abigail McLaughlin is a violinist and teacher in northeast Ohio. She is a first
violinist with the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra, and is a member of the WPO
String Quartet. She is also a member of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, the
Youngstown Scoring Stage, and is a regular substitute violinist with the
Youngstown Symphony. For the past two years, Abigail has been violin faculty at
Thiel College, Pennsylvania, where she was the head of the strings program.
Abigail is one of the founders of the Strings of Joy Youth Program for the Warren
Philharmonic Orchestra, and is currently a violin instructor for the program.
During Abigail’s high school years she was a member of the Wheeling and
Pittsburgh Youth Orchestras and participated in the PYSO Italy Tour and West
Virginia All-State Orchestra Festival. Abigail received her Bachelor’s Degree in
Violin Performance in 2015 from Dana School of Music at Youngstown State
University, where she was a student of National Orchestra Violinist John Wilcox,
and Joseph Kromholz. Abigail enjoys participating in summer music festivals, and played in the National Music Festival in 2011 and 2012, and the Brevard Summer Festival in 2013 and 2014.
Currently, Abigail is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance at
Cleveland State University, where she is a student of Peter Otto and a member of
the CSU graduate string quartet.
