Bachelor and Master of Music in Voice Performance – Kent State University

Natalie Butchko, mezzo-soprano, is known for her warm, legato voice and her positive, friendly nature. She recently performed virtually with Pittsburgh Festival Opera and was featured in scenes from Mozart’s Clemenza di Tito and Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia. Natalie’s past stage appearances include Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Baba in The Medium, Mrs. Splinters and Ma Moss in The Tender-Land, Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Celaeno in The Harpies, and Second Spirit in The Magic Flute. She also placed third at the NATS competition in the Fall of 2017 and 2019. Natalie has been featured as a soloist for Handel’s Messiah, Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, and has also performed with Cleveland Chamber Choir. She received both her Bachelors and Masters of Music in Voice Performance from Kent State University in May 2018 and 2020.

Natalie believes that music plays a vital role in her students’ life, and singing is one of the beautiful ways they can express themselves. She makes sure that the learning environment is welcoming to all students and emphasizes proper vocal techniques to allow for greater flexibility among all styles of music. She is thrilled and honored to be a part of the ASM team.
