Owen Davis, a native of a small town in Northeast Ohio, discovered his passion for music at an early age. Immersing himself in every music program available, he particularly excelled as a key member of his high school drumline. His love for music led him to pursue a degree in Jazz Performance at the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. During his time at the university and under the guidance of Dr. Glenn Schaft and Dr. Dave Morgan, Davis earned several performance-based scholarships and played in all of the school’s top jazz and classical ensembles. He also had the privilege of performing with jazz legends such as Jamey Aebersold, Harold Danko, and Néstor Torres.
Upon graduating, Owen began touring with The Vindys, serving as their drummer since 2022. With the band, he has performed at prominent venues across the country, including Bethel Woods (Woodstock), UPMC Arena, Capitol Theatre, The Beacon Theater, Graceland Soundstage, Hotel Cafe, Stage AE, Goodyear Theater, and Cleveland’s House of Blues. The Vindys have also appeared at major events such as The Wonder Festivals, Hometown Holidays, and the Paw Paw Festivals. They have opened for renowned artists including: Marcus King, Donnie Iris, Ann Wilson of Heart, ZZ Top, and Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo. In Summer 2024 and Spring 2025, The Vindys joined Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo on two international tours across the United States and Canada.
As an educator, Owen has taught a diverse array of students across Northeast Ohio and Central Pennsylvania. He has led multiple high school drumlines in the Youngstown area and served as the drumline instructor for the University of Clarion in Clarion, Pennsylvania. Additionally, he has been a private lesson instructor for several years and has taught at the School of Rock in Stongsville, Ohio and currently teaches at the Aurora School of Music in Aurora Ohio
