Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Madison Sheffield began her piano studies at the age of six. Since then, she has participated in several competitions, adjudicated events and recitals. During high school, she participated in many festivals including the Fredonia Piano Fellows Program and the Baldwin Wallace Keyboard Workshop. In 2022, she was a semifinalist in the David D. Dubois Piano Festival and Competition at Bowling Green State University. In the summer of 2024, she participated in Northwestern University’s Duo Piano Masterclasses at the Bienen School of Music, gaining piano ensemble experience. More recently, she attended a tonebase Piano Camp at the Adamant Music School in Vermont. In 2025, she competed at the Tuesday Musical Scholarship Competition at the University of Akron, Ohio. Throughout her education, she has been awarded several scholarships including the 88 Hearts Scholarship, the George A Gabler Scholarship, the Robert E. Michael Dana School Scholarship, the Szymanski-Pisegna Family Scholarship, and a two year recipient of the Warren Music Club Scholarship. With a focus on leadership in her community, Madison is the secretary of the Youngstown Music Teachers’ Association and president of the Dana Piano Guild. Focusing more on community, she started a recital series in October of 2023 dedicated to the betterment of student musicians in high school and college. The Cornerstone Coffeehouse Recital Series is a free monthly recital series showcasing these student musicians in a relaxing environment to better their performance skills. Madison is currently in her third year at Youngstown State University studying Piano Performance with Dr. Caroline Oltmanns.
