Originally from Calgary, AB, Canada, Allison Hillier began studying the piano with Colleen Athparia at a young age, and first fell in love with the expressivity of the instrument.

Now based in Cleveland Ohio, she recently graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music with a Masters in Piano Performance with a concentration in Piano Pedagogy. Allison also holds a Bachelor in Piano Performance with a minor in Piano Pedagogy and concentration in Cognitive Science from Oberlin Conservatory and College.

During her studies, Allison was under the mentorship and guidance of several leading pedagogues; most recently, Angela Cheng, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Andrea McAlister and Sean Schulze. With over six years of teaching experience herself, Allison was awarded the David Statler Walker Award in Music Education for her contributions to the field. Most importantly, Allison seeks to help her students discover the joy and fulfillment that music-making brings to everyday life.

As well as teaching, Allison enjoys performing and has given recitals in venues around the world, most notably in Novi Sad, Serbia, Boston, Tampa Bay, Cleveland, and throughout cities in Canada.
