Theresamarie “Marie” Banks holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Percussion Performance from Bethany College WV and has 5 years of teaching experience. She has tutored and taught students of all ages and skill levels starting in highschool through college, and previously served as a percussion coordinator for the drum line and student assistant to the band director at Bethany College WV.

During her time at Bethany, Marie has performed with the Bethany College Marching/Pep Band, choir, percussion ensemble, drumline, concert band, and founding band member of Be Right Back, performing in local band battles, concerts, and summer kick offs in Pittsburgh PA (2021-2023). She also performed for the Japanese Congressmen performing Miyake Daiko on Japanese Taiko drums (2022).
Her expertise spans various drumming styles and is proficient in teaching drum set, snare drum, marching band drums, hand percussion, world drums, concert auxiliary percussion, and Japanese Taiko Drumming.

Committed to fostering a love for music and rhythm, Marie focuses on developing strong technical skills while encouraging creativity and musical expression. She believes in the importance of practice, discipline, and musicality, aiming to help each student achieve their personal best and exceed their own expectations.

Marie has been awarded the George K. Hauptfuehrer Award of musical excellence (2024) and one of the founding chapter members of the Sigma Tau Epsilon Music National Honors Society and Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre and Performing Arts Honors Society.
